Sa’at Tower or Clock Tower also known as Tabriz Municipality Palace is the head office of the municipal government of Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan Province, Iran located at down-town.
The best place for tourists to go there to collect complete information about all attraction of Tabriz. Many clock towers are freestanding structures but they can also be part of a church or municipal building such as a town hall. They are a common sight in many parts of the world with some being iconic buildings. To name a famous clock tower in the world, the Elizabeth Tower in London, commonly called “Big Ben” can be mentioned. The construction works of this building started on 1934 and finished on 1938 by supervising Deutsch engineers and order of King Reza Pahlavi. After World War II it was used by the Azerbaijan Democrat Party as a Government Office. When Iranian troops regained control of Tabriz in 1947, the building was again used as the Tabriz municipal central offices, a function which has continued up to the present day.
In recent years parts of the building are decorated in function of museum. The museum includes historical maps and photos of Tabriz. There are also some antiques like first taxi cars, old firefighting tracks, Tabriz fantastic carpet are shown in the museum.
